
Thanks for visiting. There are those who think of me as a traditional western landscape photographer, but you'll find images here that don't fit that stereotype.
I learned photography from some of the greats: Ansel Adams, Brett Weston, Steve Crouch, and especially Wynn Bullock. I hope that their influence shows, but my work is not about imitating the masters. It is about a way of seeing the world in an instant, deeply and with precision. Each photograph is a meditation.
This way of seeing the world doesn't have to end because photography has gone digital. All the color photographs here are digital and archivally printed. But they remain as I saw them. I do not manipulate my photographs to create an alternate reality.
The reality we have is enough for a lifetime.
